Great attention has been given to details referring to the original location, creating the impression of an open-air setting: streetfurniture, old lighting and a permanent blue sky! You “are” outside...but “in” a building. Quiet surrealistic, but taht is typical Belgian too!
Fritkot Max has been officialy re-opened in 2000 by the Lord Mayer of Antwerp and became the symbol of the real authentic Belgian friesshop.
On the first floor, people can visit the “Frietkotmuseum”, exhibiting artworks from various Belgian and international artists who were inspired by fries. It’s probably one of the smallest museums in Belgian and without any doubt the only one were visitors may eat fries!
